18 years was worth the wait...
It finally happened. 18 years after my penpal Monika turned me on to Motley Crue, I finally got to see them on Saturday night in Cardiff. I had seen them before at Donington but that's never a real reflection of what a band's own show is unless they are headlining. Crue ruled - I couldn't believe the energy of the show. They played all the old classics which I loved so much. I suppose nobody will see this post or reply to it because I am such a one-off blogger these days, but I am telling you, this was a real moment for me. Ever since I persuaded my Mum to get me tickets for the Crue show in January 1987 (I think) and then didn't manage to get through, only to find out that the gig was cancelled because of 'snow on the roof' or some other unlikely excuse, I have been waiting for this. It was worth it!
Waiting for a builder....
I got bored waiting for the builder this morning, so I took a few pics of the garden from the inside of the new house. I would have taken some of the house, but it was raining quite hard. It will be nice to be able to see the garden from almost everywhere in the house, unlike the place we are renting where you can hardly see it without being in it!
What have I been up to for the last two months?
Mostly I have been working but there has been a bit of time to relax here and there. Witho and I went to Exeter to see Downfall, a truly grim but captivating film about Hitler.
Before the film, which we went to see at Exeter Picture House, I had time to gaze lovingly at guitars I will probably never be able to afford, such as this one or the £5500 Paul Reed Smith I saw in the same shop.
A cool cat
We also had time to visit Witho's family in Chippenham and saw their supposedly evil cat, Dicko, who has this cunning trick of drinking water from a running tap as you can see....
Further happenings
We also went up to Bristol to my friend's house for his birthday and went on a walk around part of Bristol which led to this tower, from which we had a long walk to the top and the amazing views of the city which you can see here.
